New Year, New Project

Now that I am finally back into stitching mode, I'd like to have more to show than I do at the moment. As I said in an earlier post, my goal is to stitch a Christmas stocking for each member of my immediate family. That will be a total of six. Giving myself a year to do each one will  leave time for other projects, and hopefully, I won't get discouraged before I finish.
I've started with Madi's. She's the youngest and should get her stocking first. She's the only child and really, she was the most helpful in picking out her theme. I'm already beginning to second guess myself though. She wanted angels. And they have lots of cats. So, I found a stocking with angel kitties. I hope she'll like it. I've gotten some done on it already, but even I can't make any sense of my stitched areas at this point. So, no point in posting a picture until I can see some actual progress.

No Stitching... Bah HumBug

I have not stitched at all in several weeks. I finished the birth pieces for Evan and Noah, and started a stocking for my favorite little girl. I really didn't make any real headway into it though because first of all, Phillip had surgery that went awry. Then we had some entertaining to do. Between cleaning and cooking, there wasn't much time, but besides that, my chart stand gets in the way when we're having friends over. So, I remove it. I'm not putting it  back up until after the holidays. Therefore, no stitching. And I feel like I'm missing my left thumb. I think it's amazing how some people say they can't find time for stitching, but for me, if I don't stitch, I don't feel productive. So, while I thoroughly enjoy the holiday and family and friends, I will treasure the time when I can stitch again and get my fingers busy.

Twins Together

Here they are, together.

Wow!!!

I can't believe it. I actually finished it. The thing is, if it hadn't been for Thanksgiving, I could have finished it by Thanksgiving. Backstitching went very quickly. Tedious, but really, I'm not complaining. First here's the finished Wild Thing.

Back Stitching Blues

From here on out, it gets tedious. I know. Some folks would say that all of counted cross stitch is tedious. But not to me. But from now on, it's all backstitching. It really shouldn't take that long, maybe a week or so, but it feels like you aren't really making progress. You can't see new things. But here is what it looks like at present with a minimum amount of back stitching complete. I expect the next update to be at the finish line.

The Lion Sleeps

The lion and zebra are finished. I did the zebra because that gave me starting points all around to do the lion. Now, to finish the bubbles and do Wild Thing.
